DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IS A STRATEGIC PRIORITY OF THE MUNICIPALITY

At the 15th International Tourism and active rest Fair, which was organized in the "Cair" hall in Nis, traditionally Palilula Municipality presented its tourism potentials. Exhibition area of municipality of Palilula was visited in this event by Boban Dzunic, president of municipality with associates.

Palilula Municipality is located in the southern part of the city of Nis and includes a narrow part of the city in which the fan draws 15 villages, with a population over 90,000. Palilula is natural geographical combination of plain (in Nisava basin and the South Morava) and mountainous terrain. One of the strategic decisions of Palilula is the tourism and hospitality industry. Benefits for tourism development, in addition to the transport position are numerous natural and cultural resources and cultural manifestations. According to the President Džunić, green area of Palilula is primarily Memorial Park complex ''Bubanj'', an area of ​​about 40 hectares. On the regulation of this complex municipality has intensively worked for the past two years, but it needs to "Bubanj" become the concern of the wider community to regularly maintain and preserve the "green oasis", stressed the president of Municipality. Mountain Seličevica is the boulder of the Rhodope mountain mass, a rich resource and largely covered by forest, it is very convenient for day trips. Because of its unique natural beauty, distinctive terrain, rich flora and fauna, it is in order to preserve and protect the value of this area of Selicevica. In terms of actual tourist’s and Area next to the old bed of the South Morava river in the village of Mramor, Međurovo and Batušinac, there is an area known as " Batušinačke bare ".  This complex is stagnant, located near the E-75 highway, about ten kilometers from Niš and covers part of the territory of Palilula.

In the tourist offer of Palilula there is a monastery Gabrovac, today transformed into the Church of the Holy Trinity. According to some historical sources, it is originated in the 13th century. There are also very rich archaeological sites. Manifestation of the culture is certainly the most important during ''Palilula Night'', to be held on June 3 and is one of the most popular events on ''Days of Holy Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena in  Niš.” That evening, a number of programs revives spirit of Nis and bohemian Palilula. In cooperation with BC "Nonius" in the Gornje Medjurovo, there is a development of ethno -tourism, says Boban Džunić. Within the traditional event "Lazarice" and "Carnival" that promote cultural tourism, environmental and sporting activities such as organization of the championship in long distance riding and equestrian jumping out of contest "Sv.Petka".
